On 9 September 2022, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi unveiled the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue in Delhi. This Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue is placed near the India Gate (In the Capital of India, Delhi).

This great step by the Indian Prime Minister is taken on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of the Central Vista Project. This inauguration ceremony will go on from 9 to 11 September 2022. 

Along with this Primer Minister also inaugurated the “Kartavya Path”. Kartavya Path was earlier known as Rajpath which has now been renamed Kartavya Path. Kartavya Path is the most important pathway that connects Rashtrapati Bhawan to India Gate.

So on the 9th of September, a total of 3 grand inauguration ceremonies took place that will continue to 10 and 11 September. At this ceremony every morning at 8.00 PM there will be a show of 10 minutes projected. This show is a drone show that is only about Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and absolutely free for the public. 

During this whole festival and the inauguration ceremony, there were about 500 dancers and artists will come from all parts of India to show the Unity in Diversity of the country. These dancers have performed folk dances such as – Sambalpuri, Panthi, Kalbelia, Kargam, and dummy horse with live music by Nashik Dhol Pathik Tasha and Drums. These performances are held on the Kartavya Path.

The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue is placed under the canopy near the India Gate. This is the exact place where the hologram statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was created on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary (23 January 2022) of Netaji. The birthday of the great Indian freedom fighter is now celebrated as the Parakram Diwas. Hence 23 January is known as the Parakram Diwas in India.

On the occasion of Parakram Diwas, the Prime Minister of India unveiled a hologram statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. This hologram statue was placed in the same place and with the same dimension as the real one.

And Prime Minister also announced that this hologram statue will remain the same till the real statue is not installed here. And now as we all know the actual Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue in Delhi is unveiled.

The most important and great step of placing a statue of a man who sacrificed his whole life for the freedom of the country is done now. The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue India Gate height is 28 feet. The whole statue is made up of a monolithic Jet Black Granite. Hence the statue is carved out of a monolithic stone with a chisel. Netaji statue at India gate weight is 65 MT (Metric ton: 1 MT = 1000kg).

The person who got the privilege of making a statue of such a great personality of India is Arun Yogiraj. Arun Yogiraj is the sculptor who carved the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose statue. The statue is made after 26,000 hours of man work and lots of hard work to carve such a gemstone.

More About Netaji Statue At India Gate

The stone on which this idol is carved was brought from Khammam in Telangana, 1665 km from Delhi. The stone was monolithic and 280 MT in weight. This stone was so heavy and large that a special truck was designed only to carry this stone and that truck was 100 feet long with 140 wheels

After the chiseling of the stone, the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue’s weight remains 65 MT. Netaji Subhash Chandra bose statue is one of the tallest, monolithic statues that will remind us of the sacrifice of Netaji towards our country and people.

When the Prime Minister unveiled the statue, the anthem of Azad Hind Fauj was tuned. Azad Hind Fauj was the military alliance built up by Netaji to fight for the freedom against Britishers. The song that was tuned during the unveiling of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose statue was “Kadam Kadam Badaye Jaa”.
