The construction of Bhopal Metro Project Phase 2 is not initiated till now due to the undergoing development of Phase 1. Phase 2 will consist of Line 1  and Line 3A & 3B along with the 34 metro stations

Bhopal Metro Line 1 Route will connect Awadhpuri to Bairagarh by covering a total of 21.33km distance and there will be 24 elevated and underground stations on this route. As construction is not begun on this line, we can consider the station list right now.

Bhopal Metro Route: Line 3A & Line 3B

Line 3A – (Basant Kunj to Airport)

Bhopal Metro Line 3A Route will connect Basant Kunj to the Airport which is a distance of only 1km so only one metro station is planned for this route.

Line 3B – (Basant Kunj Bus Stop to Bhauri Bypass)

Bhopal Metro Line 3B Route will connect Basant Kunj Bus Stop to Bhauri Bypass which is a distance of 12.8km and there are 9 stations planned on this route.

Bhopal Metro Route: Line 4

Line 4 – (Ashok Garden to Mother Teresa School)

Bhopal Metro Line 4 Route will connect Ashok Garden to Mother Teresa School which is a 16.91 km distance and the stations on this route are not decided yet as this route comes under the last phase of the Bhoj Metro Project.

Bhopal Metro Route: Line 6

Line 6 – (Habibganj Railway Station to Mandi Deep)

Bhopal Metro Line 6 Route will connect Habibganj Railway Station to Mandi Deep which is a 14.98km distance. Line 6 is part of the last phase of development, hence the stations on this line are not decided yet.

Bhopal Metro Completion Date

Bhopal Metro starting date was in January 2019 when Dilip Buildcon Limited started the construction of the elevated viaduct and pile testing in April 2019. According to the reports, Bhopal Metro Rail Project was expected to be inaugurated in September 2023 but due to the very slow pace of construction work, it might be rescheduled in 2026. This is only about Phase 1 of the project.
