Divya Batra and Pragya Batra are the founders of Quirksmith, a handcrafted silver jewellery brand inspired by poems and the basic instinct of women. Divya Batra was passionate about accessories from the beginning and thus she also gained her formal education in the same category. She pursued Accessory Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in 2001 which she completed in 2004.
Right after her formal education, she joined Amrapali Jewels in 2004 as a head of design and worked till December 2007. After that, she joined Pearl Academy as a faculty in 2007 and worked for 1 year. In 2008, she joined Fab Jewels Pvt Ltd as a Design head and is still working as a Design Consultant.
Pragya Batra enrolled at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2002 for a dual degree course. She did BTech and MTech in Biochemical engineering and Biotechnology which she finished in 2007.
Pragya started her career journey at Bain & Company in 2007 and worked for around 7 years in different positions. She left Bain & Company in October 2014 to join InMobi where she worked till June 2016.
In 2016, Divya Batra and Pragya Batra founded the Quirksmith Silver jewellery brand. Divya is the head of Design and Production of jewellery while Pragya is the Head of Marketing and Sales at Quirksmith Silver.

Quirksmith Shark Tank Business Deal
Quirksmith on Shark Tank India Season 3 episode streamed on 13 February 2024. The founders presented their vision and products to the Sharks and asked for Rs 80 Lakh in exchange for 1% equity. Amit Jain gave them an offer which was Rs 30 Lakh for 3% equity and the rest of the Rs 50 Lakh on debt at a 12% interest rate for 2 years.
Another offer was given by Aman Gupta which was Rs 30 Lakh for 3.3% equity and the rest of the Rs 50 Lakh on debt at a 12% interest rate for 3 years. The founders found the valuation too low and thus decided not to take the offer without any counteroffer. Then Amit also made a royalty offer but the founders did not accept it either.
