On 13 September the CEO of Meta announced a new feature in WhatsApp.

Now users will be able to create WhatsApp channels or join other ones.

To create your WhatsApp Channel you have to go to the 'Updates Tab' and then select 'Create New Channel'

You can add your channel name and can change it at any time.
