Today (22 March), We are celebrating the 30th World Water Day.
World Water Day was first started on the 22nd of March 1993.
The purpose of celebrating World Water Day is to take action to tackle the water and sanitation crisis.
Spreading awareness about the importance of water is essential because only 2.5% of Earth’s surface water is suitable for us.
The demand for fresh water keeps increasing and the supply of fresh water is going down, this is a big threat for us.
We have to take significant actions to save fresh water for future generations.
The UN also releases a World Water Development Report every year.
The theme for World Water Day 2023 is “accelerating the change to solve the water and sanitation crisis”.
