Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal is one of the new Sharks in the 3rd Season of Shark Tank India, so here is some interesting info about him.
He almost failed in class 7 but was upgraded to 8 by his principal at the request of his father.
In class 8, his teacher showed him all the answers to the final exam and he topped the class. Due to this, he got false confidence and tried to source exam papers before the exam. When he realized that it would not work, he worked hard, studied one night before, and ranked in 5th position in a class of 25.
For 11 and 12 classes, he was sent to Chandigarh but he again failed in class but not lose his confidence which seemed again when he cleared IIT Jee in a single attempt.
It was Foodiebay before Zomato and initially worked as an advertising platform for the brands of restaurants.

While purchasing the domain name, Zomato, the other option was Forkwise which was actually 100 times cheaper than Zomato but his investors encouraged him for Zomato.
